I don't actually work nights anymore, that was just for a few weeks while I was recording. I get to the office in the morning now and usually work till 6 or 8pm. I am going to try and hit lowes on my lunch break today though.

When are we doing Borderlands cosplay? I'd be down to work on something for next AX or PAX or FAX or SINTAX or... you know, next convention. That. But we also talked about doing a Berserk group, and a Fifth Element group. Can we vote on at least one big group project for next year so we can start planning seriously? 'Cause I'm slow at costume making...

I don't think we're capable of thinking about more than one project at a time. So, let's worry about stuff we're doing for this year. We will take a tally of what we want for next year when next year begins. Cuz, honestly, I don't think we will want to work over the holidays.

Ok, so the first few steps for my hickey making device are complete! To clarify, since every time I mention it people are like ; The idea is that I want to make a fake scar on my chest for my Zoro cosplay that doesn't need constant maintenance, will only need to be applied once, and won't rub off on my costume. I am planning on doing shirtless zoro next year, so I need it to look particularly good. I realized that when my shoulder gets pinched by the weight lifting machine, it makes straight lines on my shoulder that are not uncomfortable, and last for days. I have found that when I have a hickey, it gets really dark, and lasts for about a week, so if I could make a device that I could use to give myself a long, straight hickey, I could use that to simulate Zoro's chest scar, and it would meet all of my requirements. So I made this. I think the photo is pretty self explanatory. My next step is to use hot glue to cap off the ends, and then try it! I am probably going to cut the hose down as well so that I get more power from it. I am making 2 sizes, the one in the photo is the long one, and I am making a second one that is shorter for doing the cross (stitch) lines that run along the scar. Attachments:

Your hickey machine looks interesting (and somewhat terrifying), I look forward to seeing how it works!

ran into a snag. I need a glue gun, and refuse to buy another one since I know that I have at least 2 of them, but I can't find either one. Hopefully going to borrow one tonight.

c-c-c-c-c-COMBO Breaker! So, after 2 hours at the jigsaw, one broken blade, and a trip to home depot, my arms are very sore. But I have this to show for it. I'm fairly happy with things so far. Except that the plank I grabbed to make the rifle is kinda crap. Not a big deal. I will make it work. Attachments:

alright, ran my first experiment. Things I have learned: 1: I need more suction, the regular vacuum is not working, time to step up to a shop vac. 2: I was over thinking my adapter. I pretty much just need to cut a slot in a round piece of hard plastic and tape it really good over the end of a vacuum hose. 3: I made the slot way too big. My skin stretches to fill the void in the slot, so the mark ended up being about twice the size of the slot. 4: I look/feel ridiculous when i am using this device. But then, that's not really something I learned, I kind of already knew that... More on this as it develops.

Adam, you don't need a freaky hickey machine to look ridiculous. It's one of the many things that comes naturally to you.

Thought you guys might want to see some Polar Star progress. It's pretty much ready to paint at this point. By then I should be able to start detailing the rifle. Attachments:
