If I had one problem with Deus Ex:HR, it's that it ended too soon. Although, that sounds more like a testament to how fun it was.
Anyway, time for another playthrough, I guess.

Loved the demo for Warhammer 40k Space Marine, but anyone who knows me and gets a look at this could tell it's my kind of game. Could I just get a hack that adds a chainsaw sword and a jetpack to anything I play in the future? It'd help me finally finish Metro 2033, at least...

I'm happy that there's finally something that will allow me into the Warhammer universe. I'm definitely picking that one up. The demo was reckless fun.
Also, Rock of Ages dropped today. It's silly fun. You should pick it up for 2 reasons:
1. I want people to play it with.
2. These are the same people that made Zeno Clash, so PLEASE give them all of your money.

I'd never actually watched Rock of Ages gameplay until now, and I can totally see what you mentioned about the 'Monty Python' animation influence. Funny! Came across the demo for Chantelise on Steam (demos are all I can afford right now in time & money), and it's been added to my wishlist with Bastion & Space Marine. It's a great PS1-era type action-JRPG, spent running around a great big map with 2-D sprites and a fully rotational camera to stab & magic things to death. Also Kevin clued me in on a Big O fangame I'll have to try, too... youtu.be/YXQh32-wqLY

Just finished: Space Marine, Deus Ex.
Note: Please buy both. May or may not end up making reviews for these on my game youtube channel.
Looking at Rock of Ages, and waiting for Dead Island to start working.

Squee - if you're running an ATi card, like I am, (and even if you're not - try this anyway) Dead Island knows you have it, and hates you for it. Seriously. To lower the loading times, find the crash.log (should either be under Dead Island\DI\out\logs directory or My Documents\Dead Island\out\logs or My Documents\Dead Island\DI\out\logs) Once you find it, right click on crash.log -> Properties -> Attributes: Mark as Read Only. Apply and Ok. Once the game is unable to write a flipping blog about how you have an ATi card and it hates you, it'll load as fast as it does on an Nvidia system.
And people wonder why I hate the Unreal Tournament Engine. Chrome Engine 5 is just the next evolution of Stupid. Bleah.
But man, it looks pretty, doesn't it?

As Kevin mentioned, ATI cards might give you a few issues with Dead Island. Nvidia runs well, I put it on my desktop and laptop, both had minimal issues. Other then some video issues, it was rushed and does have quite a few bugs. Early on I ended up running a truck backwards thru a tree, only to get stuck in an Austin Powers sort of way between the tree and a brick wall behind me, with an inch of space in either direction I was able to wiggle out but yeah... thru a tree.
Dead Island reminds me almost of an opposite Borderlands in a way, Borderlands is all guns with a little melee and other stuff thrown in where Dead Island is melee heavy and gives you some guns to play around with later, but very limited ammo.
The game does look good, I'd still have to say that the Crytek engine 2 (Crysis 1) to me looks better then this, give it was an island setting very similar. But this game should run better on most systems where Crysis still requires a beefy video card/processor. The reason for this is probably because Dead Island was created to run on the Xbox360.
Basically, if you like to kill zombies (who doesn't) and bash heads in (real life or not, doesn't matter) then it's the game for you.
I actually want to try this out with other players so if anyone else is getting the game for pc I'll purchase it on steam if we have enough willing to play.

Oooh, I SO want Dead Island. One of my favorite parts of L4D2 was the melee weapons! Also the fact that there's a Fist of the North Star-style mod for DI makes it a must-get (at some point) [ youtu.be/hoLadZotBuE ]

I will absolutly buy dead island, once the price comes down. I really want to play it, especially the multiplayer, but I don't $50 want to play it. As soon as it's on sale for $30 or less, count me in.

So, Space Marine was GREAT.
That's it, really.
Starting in on Hard Reset now.
Edit: Ok, that was brief.
Hard Reset was fun but short. Not especially complex. It's a shooter just the way grandma used to make 'em. With very few words, and lots of bullets.
Uber edit: Just logged 11 hours on Dead Island. So, yeah. It's pretty good.

Suikoden, eh? Man - that takes me back. Let me know if you end up playing Suikoden II. There's a nifty level-up trick that you might want to employ that I know about.
Playing on PC:
-Dead Island: It's hit and miss for me. I just... just... don't feel like it's a survival game? I finally broke down out of non-enjoyment and got a trainer to set life, bullets, and weapon durability to max. Now I'm having all sorts of fun.
Playing on PSP:
-Gundam Assault Survive: Ouuoou. Giant Robots, blowing up other Giant Robots. I've been playing this at work. Great fun. I'm a Gundam fan, and it keeps tossing Mobile Suit Variants and Manga based versions of the Gundam's at me that I've never even seen before.
-Dragon's Lair Director's Cut: Now with five lives instead of three, and scenes from the European version to break up the monotony, AND an in game map of the castle, so you know where you are. Fun.
-Grand Knight's History: New title from Vanilla ware. Just booting it up. Looks to be fun.
-Macross Ace Frontier: See above marked 'Gundam'. Replace with 'Macross'. Yes, it's a Bandai clone game. And I don't care because it's still robots blowing each other up. But this time, it's robots blowing each other up to a kickass Jpop sound track.

Dead Island is more like Borderlands, than anything. I enjoyed it for a playthrough. I'm sure it's more fun when you're doing multiplayer.
Also, yes, I totally plan to import my save to Suikoden 2 as soon as I'm done. I've been wanting to play these games for a long time. I really enjoy the team building mechanic, and variation in gameplay styles.
Also, Dragon's Lair? Is it as frustrating as I remember? I wouldn't mind just watching it like a movie one of these days.
