Oooo, yeah I agree Kevin. Bastion looks really really interesting. It's the only thing that's upcoming that has really caught my interest.

It comes out tomorrow! I am so stoked. I'll let yous all know how it is.
I am forecasting Awesome with a hint of Ominous Voice-overs followed by a hearty dose of Beat the Fook out of Shit.

I just watched the trailer for Bastion, and I REALLY hope that the voice over from the trailer is the narrator for the game. It doesn't look like the kind of game I enjoy (too dungeon fightery) but I would play it just to hear that voice be like "you gained a level."

FWAAAH so close to caving and getting Bastion for PC and a PS3 for Scott Pilgrim and other Games That Shall Not Be Named Because I Play Them Too Damn Much. I blame the rolling clouds of PAX on the horizon.
Giggling at the fact Kevin latched on to Kim Pine as favorite. I think Knives is playable too, but she's a DLC extra which is LAME

J: Knifes is DLC. And Kim is hilarious. Half the time she looks like she's very annoyed at being dragged into the fight for Scott's girlfriend, and the other half (when she's wailing on things with a weapon in her hands) she's smiling with unbridled, sadistic glee. And her call in with Knifes is a protracted kiss scene, which when leveled up, gives you one of the best heath gains in the game AND does damage to all enemies facing her AND Stuns for 2 seconds. So, F**K YES. Besides - she's got a nice ass.
Also, Konami code + No Account Video for the win.
BASTION: I just played a hundered and twenty minutes of it.
ONE. HUNDRED. AND TWENTY. MINUTES.
No breaks. Triple Overtime.
Yes, Jay, that was a Fern Gully reference, thank you for noticing.
Adam, the voice from the trailer? He's with you the entire game. Not so much for a 'You just done leveled up, boy'. But for everything else. And it's adaptive, too - I spent a few minutes wailing on boxes to get some quick cash during the earliest point of the game, when the fellow is orating on the calamity, and he breaks in with 'And then the boy just raged for a bit' - referencing my breaking stuff. Pretty darn neat.
The visuals are wonderful - all the backgrounds are hand painted, but the contrast between the painted backgrounds and the 3d character model (even with cel shading) is a bit odd. I mean, you've just spent how many months painting everything else... why didn't you do a friggin' sprite sheet? But I'm willing to forgive it, as it excels in everything else.
You are allowed to travel with two weapons. As such, combat can be a combination of ranged and Melee, or double ranged, or double melee. So far, I have a longbow, a sledgehammer, a rapid fire crossbow/machine gun, a machete, a blunderbuss, twin revolvers, a carbine, and a magical bellows that spews fire. All of them can be upgraded, and you can freely switch between upgrades anytime you want when you're at the bastion.
As for game play, it feels more like Diablo II than Dungeon Fighter Online. Just with guns, if you want them.
Every level you get another slot in which you stock alcohol. The booze gives you passive abilities. Anything from 'Health potions fill the heath bar completely and you can now carry five of them' to 'counter attacks do double damage'.
The Demo is available on Steam for the PC. It is also on XBLA. No idea if it's on the PS Network or not.
Go play it.

Played the demo for Bastion. It's not a question of IF I'll get it now, but WHEN. Definitely want the soundtrack, too!

The new trailers for Asura's Wrath & DmC are (surprisingly) winning me over. I thought that nothing could make me like Dante's new design, but the gameplay does look tasty! When I think about it, my favorite of the series (DMC3) did establish itself by extending a middle finger to the 'canon' of the two that came before it...
Besides Bastion, the two big games I'm going to have to get at some point are Saint's Row 3 & Arkham City -- which, as Kevin pointed out, basically let you play as The Joker and Batman, respectively. ^_^
Also wish I was back @ home so I could watch one someone play Deus Ex: Human Revolution when it comes out. I miss backseat gaming with you guys!

We really need to make a list of things to check out at PAX. There's been a lot of trailers for new stuff popping up.
Also, holy shit, Bastion is fun.

OWLBOY DEMO: www.roflgames.com/DPadWebsite/www/index.htmSuper-fun! I find myself even enjoying the non-killy bits because of the visuals and music. Counting Bastion, this may be the 2nd game this year that's suckered me into playing a game with a silent protagonist...

I started my journey into Deus Ex: Human Resources Department last night. I was just going to play for an hour, just do the intro, and then go exercise, but I WAS A FOOL! 4 hours later I realized that I was too late to go to the gym if I was going to be able to get to work on time today.
I am happy to report that despite the fact that my intention was to be all stealth focused, I find myself hacking all the time. Not because it's always the best option, but because I actually enjoy the mini game! How often can you say that?
I will say this though, I thought it was going to be cool playing a game where the main character is named Adam. But it's WEIRD! I'm feeling way more engaged in a game that is already really engaging. Overload!
So yeah, if you haven't picked up Deus Ex: HR, you are missing out.
