I am working on making a film! And not like the 3 shorts we have posted earlier, I am making something much more substantial. As such, I figure that I will use this space to talk about the experience and keep everyone up to date on whats going on.
So far, I have mainly just been working on buying and building equipment. I bought the Adobe Master Collection, for example, and a really nice HD camcorder. I have also built a 4 foot by 4 foot gold bounce that gets really small, and am working on finishing my bank light, which will be about 40 inches to a side when done.
If people are interested, I can also talk about my process for making these things and put up some photos of my progress and what not. I will also take photos when we are shooting and put up behind the scenes type photos during production.
We are having out first official meeting tomorrow, so I will make another post on Monday talking about how it went!

The meeting was a big success! I was hoping to come up with a rough idea or two, but we ended up coming up with a full script treatment! It's a little more zany than I would have liked, but I love the story, so we are going to go for it. Preproduction begins soon, and I will start posting some behind the scene photos before too long. My new camera comes tomorrow, I'm so excited!

I just got my new camera today! It's awesome! I recorded at 60 frames per second (progressive, not interlaced) a short video of throwing my sheep puppet into the air, and then brought it down to 30 fps. It still looks smooth as glass, but is moving slowly and gracefully. I wish that I had had this camera when we made a short movie with lots of Cherrio's some years back....

I experimented with my new camera's time laps ability yesterday, and was very happy with the result! Doing the dishes crushed down into 17 seconds. I am going to shoot some more test footage tomorrow, perhaps i will put it up on our movies page...

Well, the shooting of test footage ended up falling through, so I am afraid that I have nothing new to put in the movie section. Soon though, I will put us some random clips from self directed learning. I think I might put up a post showing the difference having a large gold bounce can make on a scene.

Very successful movie meeting today! We hammered out an old horror movie idea and put together a script treatment for it. Then we shot some silly test footage just to experiment with my new camera. All in all I am very happy with todays progress! -Adam

Sweet, I'd like to help out so maybe if you get some days you're going to shoot some video I can come down, as long as it will be a weekend. As you know I'm taking a video class and the teacher is awesome, I feel like I have already learned a ton so I'd like to put my input in wherever possible.

Successful meeting today! While we didn't get as much work done as I would have liked, we had tons of fun, and that is also very important. Also, I now have footage of Ann dressed like a carrot, and stomping around like a zombie. All and all, a good day.

Fortunately my face is obscured, so that video can't be used for blackmail purposes later...

So, last saturday we started learning more about the camera and lighting and what not while visiting Ann's place in the city. It was really fun, and she has an ally under her apartment building which is without a doubt a perfect horror movie location. I will put up a clip or two when i get back to the bay area on monday. In the mean time, i am up in chico this weekend, and am going to try to shoot a short movie with Eric tomorrow. Wish me luck!
