Many of us have been geeking about this in private, but I thought I'd share it with the rest of the board for those few unaware (thx blkriku): the next series from the creators of Avatar: The Last Airbender is due in 2011. To anyone unfamiliar with the series, you are strongly urged to ignore the movie at least give the show itself a chance -- it's some of the strongest animation outside of Japan to be shown on American television. Aside from all the major details on the site, this piece of information especially has me interested: Korra IS a miniseries, and Bryke [Bryan & Mike, series creators] is happy because that means they can really make an impressive 12 episodes instead of hits and misses like they felt they had with original series. While the initial feeling is to demand MOAR, I'm really fascinated to see if the 12 episode limit gives the quality of animation even more of a boost (and personally speaking I'd rather it all come out than have to wait between seasons).

Also, a total tangent, but this idea has been itching my brain much more than it should and I have to get it out...
...in crossover terms, what bending element would each of the Ninja Turtles be attached to? Raphael would be firebending obviously; but what about Leo, Don, & Mike?
Somehow I think Earth for Don...he's a studious sort, and I could see him going crazy in depth studying fault lines, geologic pressure and time. Leo I'm more inclined to say Water, because his Katara-like uselessness* dedication to the martial arts totally makes me think he'd be in line with Bruce Lee's philosophy about the 'formless form' of water.
That leaves Mikey with Air. I'll be honest -- I just want to see him with the arrow tattoo on his head.
Sigh. There's a reason I'm talking to myself alone in this thread again, isn't there?
* seriously I am totally kidding Katara & Leo are awesome

Wait. Back up. They're gonna make a new series and not explain WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO ZUKO'S MOM!?!? This is bogus. M. Night ruins everything. Freaking love Momo though.

They may still explain what happened to Zuko's mom, be patient! In fact, you never know, the entire story could be driven by it, in the same way that everything that happens in the first series was because of an event that happened 100 years before.

Personally, I prefer them leaving a lot of those threads open (Zuko's mom, etc.), because stuff like that is never answered to the satisfaction of the fandom. And then there's this:
