I'm putting this in here because though it is animation, it's Canadian animation. I don't know if anyone remembers watching the results from the AMV Iron Chef at AX but the "secret ingredient" the contenders had to use was footage from a movie called Rock and Rule. I'm sure Amanda and Diane remember me yelling at the screen in the Nokia theater "WHAT IS THAT!?" right after the winner's showing. Unfortunately Mr. Announcer Man-Dude couldn't remember the name, so when I got home that night I made it my life's mission to find out! >:] And boy am I glad because this is one stupendously BAD movie. xD I recommend everyone watch it! Here's the IMDB: Rock and Rule

omg. That movie looks incredible! It's like the whole 80's in one movie with rats. The narrator's voice could be better though.

@amanda: What!? Really!? Dude that's awesome! Shoot, where were you during the masquerade! Hahaha! It was surprisingly hard to figure out what that footage was without any clues other than it was old, rock oriented and had rats xD Google was not my friend that night, pfffft! Do you have any other interesting movies? (o w o)!
@chris: I know, me too! There's just nothing like it anymore ;_;
Other old school animation favorites of mine are: Watership Down Secret of NIMH The Adventures Of Little Nemo Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night The Last Unicorn FurnGully Original 80's Care Bear Movies Unico aka Yuniko (technically anime, but it's Tezuka so it's awesomeness causes a transcendence of genre......plus I didn't know this was Japanese when I was 5.......I just know it rocked my world.)

I have the old BBC Chronicles of Narnia, which were my rainy day movies when I was little. I recently picked up Dust Factory, a movie I spotted in a fanmade music video to the Libera song Salva Me. Its very sweet. I have the entire first season of Disney's Gargoyles. Another good movie that few people know of: Princess Caraboo.

HOLY SHIT, PINNOCHIO AND THE EMPEROR OF THE NIGHT. I have not heard that movie mentioned aloud in decades. And thanks to a mutual friend of Ann's I was introduced to Unico this summer. Rock 'n' Rule I haven't seen in years, but I've been curious to see how it holds up after all these years.
My personal favorite old animated movie that I feel doesn't get enough love is the Rankin-Bass Hobbit adaptation. The design, the music, the characters..I'd watch it a thousand times before I try slogging through Lord of the Rings again.
