Continuing to fool around with someone you have broken up with can be dangerous. Separating emotion from a physical experience is very difficult to do, and chances are that one or both parties are going to develop and reinforce a strong emotional connection. This can create a difficult situation when a new date-able person is introduced to the group of friends. Does this mean that it's always wrong? I don't think so. If you break up without fighting and hating each other, then you are still going to find each other sexually attractive, and there will constantly be sexual tension. Sometimes a release is necessary. As in all things in relationships, communication is key. You have to be clear about your intentions, and speak openly with each other. The only way the emotions are truly going to settle down is when both parties have found someone else and are able to move on. In regards to nerd dating as you get older, I believe that things are changing in our society. It is becoming much more acceptable for people to continue to pursue their childhood interests into their adult life. I am not going to pretend that something I enjoy is not fun anymore just because I am afraid that someone will think I am childish. Any girl that can't handle the fact that I enjoy anime and video games is not a girl that I want to date. So how do you meet an older nerd girl? How about this: Try starting a club thats 21 and over where you watch bad movies or anime and make fun of them while enjoying a few drinks. Or how about this: Start a 25 and over club at anime expo so that us adults can get away from the young-ens and enjoy some time among our peers. The moral of the story is take the initiative! Plus if you are the leader in an organization, it makes you more desirable... ~Adam

I never got any of that chocolate cake and am sad......
I like that idea of the 21 and up club watching cheezy anime movies and making fun of them. I would totally go to it. or you can just watch harry potter movies and drink, cause almost everyone loves those two and together you cant loose.

Thank you for your advice, Adam, JesseJames and Arie, It's great, in theory. I'm gonna have to work really hard to stay away, as we have a lot of the same friends, and have a generally hard time avoiding each other. It works for about a month, and then we end up in a situation that leaves us alone in a car at night. -.- It can't end well. Although I should mention that our breakup was probably among the most amicable breakups in the history of breaking up. We separated in order to grow up away from each other during our college years. Which is why we're still very comfortable around each other, there was hardly ever any real conflict. I did talk to him about it recently, and he thought it was a good idea too, now we just have to see how long we can stay away from each other while maintaining a friendship in the future. Wish me luck! And thanks again!<3 p.s. I'm only 19, but I fully support the idea of creating a club for less juvenile nerds. I'd totally join it, once the time came. And Harry Potter marathons at any age and with any drinks are always completely appropriate. I had one myself today, with chocolate milk.

Look! I found Caitlin! xD HIIIII, It's Heather, the girl who cut yu xDDD I had such a GREAT time at Nerd Courting. I just wish I could've stayed afterwards! D= I actually had a question or two xD Does a girl being really perverted intimidate a guy?

That all depends on the kind of perverted. Guy's egos are super fragile, so if you are walking down the con hall with one guy, and you see another guy thats in a revealing costume, and make a perverted comment about that guy, then the guy you are with is going to take that as a personal insult. It's not very logical, and a double standard, but it's the reality I'm afraid.
It depends on the guy too though. Someone like me, you are not going to make uncomfortable, no matter how perverted your words may be. But I also feel comfortable talking into a microphone about my penis in front of a thousand people. I am a rare case. Most guys you will make uncomfortable.
Basically, what it boils down to is this. Most guys looking for a relationship want a classy lady. That doesn't mean that you are not perverted, it just means that you are only perverted when talking to your significant other. If you are only looking for a fling from a guy you are not currently dating, then be as perverted as you feel comfortable being! Just be aware that when you say dirty things, you are creating the implication that you are interested in doing dirty things with the person you are talking too. It works both ways, it's just that with guys it's more socially acceptable that they want the dirty things....

That makes sense... Kinda. xD I'm just a weirdo because I'm a mixture of being classy and being perverted at the same time, which really doesn't make sense. I'm only really perverted with people I've known fer a long time. But when I first meet people, I'll use the small perverted jokes.

As long as I know the girl and we established a friendship we can be rude and crass as much as possible. With friends or around people you know that won’t mind, there is no problems

Oh, don't even get me started. Mystery Science Theater were basically the comedy gamma bomb that burned the three shadows of Tom, Crow and [YOUR FAVORITE HERE] into the lower corner of my right eye so I see every movie through that filter.
Anyone here follow Rifftrax or Cinematic Titanic? Actually, we should probably make a seperate thread for this...
